Indexation of pensions in 2011
Indexing the size of pensions — increasing the size of pensions on the basis of relevant resolutions of the Government of the Russian Federation in order to improve the living standards of pensioners. Russian legislation provides for indexing the insurance part of the labor retirement pension, retirement pension and a disability retirement pension for survivors (including a fixed base size of these pension) due to rising prices and the average monthly wage in Russia.
Social pension — the pension is set for the disabled and elderly people who, for whatever reason have not earned retirement pension. Reasons for the establishment of social pensions are different — it’s disability (I, II, III group), the onset of disability in childhood, reaching the appropriate age 65 for men and 60 for women, the death of one or both parents of a child under the age of 18 years.
In 2011, pensions were indexed twice:
- February 1, 2011 occupational pensions increased by 8.8%.
- April 1, 2011 social pensions have increased by 10.27%.
